A Lifelong Passion for Sailing
“The ocean has never stopped teaching me. Wind & Within is my way of sharing those lessons with others.”
Philippe is the founder of Wind & Within and a sailor, sailing instructor and teacher.
After years spent helping people learn how to navigate boats, he became increasingly interested in another kind of navigation — how we respond to uncertainty, where we place our attention and how easily we can lose touch with the present moment.
Wind & Within brings those two worlds together.
The boat is not simply transportation.
It becomes part of the experience.
Amy

The Practice of Presence
“When we slow down and pay attention, we create space to notice what is already there.”
Amy brings a background in meditation, yoga, somatic mind-body practices, education and retreat facilitation.
She helps guide the Opening Circle, meditation, reflection practices and Closing Circle, creating a grounded and relaxed environment where Navigators can slow down, connect and be present.
Amy and Philippe work together throughout the day, blending the sailing experience with reflection, conversation and practical tools for presence.

Growing up alongside her father, Captain Ernesto Alfano, Andrea developed a deep connection to the ocean and an appreciation for the tradition of welcoming people aboard.
Today, she brings that same spirit to Wind & Within, thoughtfully caring for the details that shape each voyage—from the moment Navigators arrive to the meals shared around the table.
For Andrea, hospitality is about more than service.
It is about creating an atmosphere where people can relax, feel at home, and enjoy being together.

Captain Aristides brings years of professional sailing experience and an in-depth knowledge of Banderas Bay.
Responsible for navigation and safety throughout the voyage, he reads the weather, wind, and sea conditions, adapting the route and timing as the day unfolds.
Along the way, he shares a knowledge of the coastline, surrounding waters, and life under sail.
